The Story Behind Degree Seven

Degree Seven has been a five-year passion project of mine, one I started back in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. I was determined to develop something WMP had never done before: a fully screwless hinge designed in-house. What began with hundreds of sketches and failed prototypes eventually became something real.

By 2021, after a year of testing, I patented a screwless hinge, one of its kind. It was built with titanium, something WMP had never used before. As an affordable eyewear brand, we’ve always prioritized accessibility, but manufacturing this kind of frame required more resources, more time, and more precision.

That’s not to say all future WMP products will follow in Degree Seven’s footsteps. But if another brand had built something this advanced, it would retail for $500 or more. We’re still delivering the highest value possible- just with a new level of craftsmanship.

With complete confidence, I can say: Degree Seven isn’t like anything you’ve worn before. It’s not only our most technical frame, it’s also the lightest pair of sunglasses you’ve ever felt.
