Rx Entry
Your prescription consists of the required lens powers to correct your vision. Enter your Rx EXACTLY as your doctor has provided. You normally will have values for both OD (Right Eye) and OS (Left Eye). The SPH, or Sphere power, is the first correction that indicates the magnification or magnification necessary to correct your vision. The CYL, or Cylinder power, is the first component of astigmatism, and corrects for the football shaping of your lens, which causes the unwanted angling of light. The AXIS indicates the angle of the astigmatism correction and is present on any prescription with Cylinder power. Some people have astigmatism and some do not. The ADD power is an additional magnification for those who need a different power for distance and reading. This is usually for those who are presbyopic, aged over 45. On our single vision lenses, you will need to select whether you want Distance, Intermediate, or Reading if you have an ADD power as the lenses will only work for one of these purposes.
